Ah ha! Yes an update. I was going to give one next Thursday, it’s being installed then, but seeing so you asked …..
So this will be instalment number 2. Back track here to instalment number 1. Which has gone back and I’m fully refunded no questions asked and all very simple. Which was from National Broadband. Faultless company.
I’ve been on a steep learning curve here. Chap turns up to fit it. Yada Yada …. ‘Well it’s all a bit pants mate’ …. Because?
The design is 5+ years old, never been upgraded and some down sides such as. The cable from receiver to modem is just coaxial and looses 50% of received signal strength over its 5M. Increasing the cable length is not possible either. It’s already at only about 40Mbps tops, before the losses.
Long short here … I was told that the best units out there are from Elon Musk and are about £1000 then £75/month, but they are crazy fast 150Mbps. Then there is the one I am now having fitted next Thursday. 100Mbps and £30/month. Initial cost £650. I know, more than I had first thought but, you get what you pay for and it’s a 4/5G hybrid system now and ready to go 5G with no further work needed or monthly costs involved. It also comes with what is called a micro 5G cable about 3mm thick and can be almost any length with no signal degradation. I locked in for a 12 month contract but could have been up to 5 years with fixed costs.
More I can tell you on/after Thursday.
Regards. Rich.

The most critical thing is the quality and strength of your 4g/5g signal.. Best of luck

Update.
So the guy came back with the new system. Full details of that in the next post.
Got a great signal strength but not a great speed, 50Mbps. This is sometimes the way it goes he tells me.
He is returning next week with, should I need it, a mast for the aerial. Rather than just fixing it to the building. But more importantly, he tells me, with other SIM cards, such as EE, Vodafone etc. His thinking is one of them will give me a faster speed. I forgot to ask him what one he came with yesterday. There is no additional cost for using a different SIM.
I’m sort of hopeful that I’m getting there now. …..

UPDATE …..
Wo wo wo!
17:30 hrs. …. And I kid you not ….. 100Mbps all over the house. This is 4G and will automatically go to 5G when I get it. Then speeds of 200+.
So it’s an MC889 ZTE aerial unit. And an MC889 T3000 modem. Using Vodafone network.
I’ll upload some pictures of it. It’s very small and fits onto the facia board below the guttering.
Pleased? …… bloody hell yes.
£650 up front cost and then £30/month.

Expensive, but so what, £30 a month is excellent for that speed. Great result!! Enjoy it.
