Hi Vindi,
Your new toy looks like fun, ( Don't Roll Over Laughing though )
Time to do Classic Trials rather than track days then !!
Just supercharge it and Throw Mud About.
Cheers Dickie

Some lovely knobbly ones for all the road noise and handling issues Exactly that! Looking at some knobbly 235/75/15 to lift the car another few inches, and make sure it never quite turns in properly! Russell why not add a body-lift? should be easy with the suspension subframes being the 'chassis' & seperate from the body but don't expect good track manners Rich.

Had a chance to look properly at the underneath, and it's basically swiss cheese. Needs both arches, sills on both sides, front and rear, all 4 jacking points, and about half a dozen places inside the wheel arches (flitch plates? Think that's the name)
So ... yeah, it's going to be broken and the lift kit will be transferred onto a different car. I did wonder about reshelling it, but solid shells aren't exactly easy to come by, and the extras this car has aren't really needed on a lifted car
On with the track car ... more progress made on cleaning up the engine bay, makes sense to do it now before the wiring etc is put back in Started looking for some better brakes as well, hoping to find something a bit lighter ... maybe FD RX7 calipers, or another set of Maruha brakes if I can find any.
Also started making a custom dash. Just playing with ideas at the moment, but I need to make something to fit around the roll cage, so might as well have a play with a different style

Russell these look like re-branded wilwood or outlaw calipers what size discs are they setup for? Rich. They're not rebranded anything. They're designed for the standard 1.8 big brake discs, 270mm. There's an option to go for 2 part discs to save some more weight, which I might go for when the grooved ones I have need replacing Russell

Ok, I stand corrected! Very similar, different split at the top (to get a different width disc?) and different mount shape at the bottom but that might be where the design comes from. Are the outlaw brakes still available? Wondering if they make them for Maruha ... the throttle bodies Maruha sell are made by Jenvey, to Maruha's design so maybe this is a similar thing

Are the outlaw brakes still available? Wondering if they make them for Maruha ... I'm unsure how old Outlaw's website is (havn't looked..) and as to are they still trading? unknown - will do some diggin the throttle bodies Maruha sell are made by Jenvey, to Maruha's design so maybe this is a similar thing interesting that Jenvey make tb's to maruha's design, the Jenvey tb is dimensionally copied from Weber's infamous 'DCOE' pattern (Weber actually made DCOE compatable tb's under the brandname 'Weber Alpha') I'd guess its more re-branding with possible diferent color & badging (stickers) nothing wrong with re-branding, if the components work & are reliable then a win EDIT. I've a few sets of lightwieght stainless pistons for the outlaw calipers (long story), think they're 36mm or 38mm diameter................ Rich.

I don't really know how I ended up with this ... Quite a cool car really, last of the RWD Volvo cars, 2.0 turbo red block, manual gearbox, a few mods taking it to about 220bhp ... just needs the handbrake sorting and I'll see if it will pass an MOT! Russell

Why is it raining so much!!! Not much progress in the car/s as I had a leak in the garage roof, pouring in the front corner and down the walls, stopping only to go through a light switch and plug socket ... eek!!
So I did some repairs and managed (second time around) to stop the leak at the front ... only for it to start leaking in the middle and at the back!! Not a small leak, so rain has stopped play while I try to at least get everything off the floor ... and ideally out of the garage.
So while the garage is rapidly turning into a swimming pool, I've sent the track car off to get a few bits done ... Mk2 wiring loom to be put in with all the various ends changed for the Mk1 lights etc, brake lines to be renewed front to back and a few tweaks to the cage. Hopefully I can get the garage watertight before it comes back!
Had a bizarre conversation with my mum ... it went something like: Me - roof is leaking, woe is me, will have to get the whole roof replaced as patching it doesn't seem to be working. Mum - I always thought your garage was in a strange place, if you knocked it down you could rebuild it at the side of the house and make the garden bigger at the same time. If you made it a bit bigger you could get 2 cars fully inside it, with more space to work on the cars. Maybe a bit of workshop space at the back. If you added a pitched roof you could have storage above as well. Maybe if you made it a bit taller you could have an office above.
I like my mum!! ... now I just need to work out how to pay for it all!!
