Ah really? That's a shame. At least you can take advantage of various cheap automotive stuff while you're there. What will become of the Datsun once your visa is up!?

I have other friends with big garages He's actually looking at buying a farmhouse and barn next year, and is keen for a workshop / garage space there. So we'll see what happens. Once I've been here for a year, I'll look at getting my green card. My employer should sponsor me - I don't think I'll have a problem getting it. After I have that, I can buy a place and start making longer term plans. I don't see myself moving back to the UK any time soon; the job opportunities are much better here, I earn a lot more than I did doing the same job back in Scotland, and it doesn't rain 364 days of the year.

It does sound awesome to be fair! I really like the US and would love to see more of it. I am very jealous haha

Shame the Enkeis are so heavy, but they will look damn cool!

Yeah, that's what I'm leaning towards as well. On a side note, I just filled up the Wrangler this morning (just less than $30 ) - I got 18mpg. At least when the Datsun is on the road, I might be hitting 20! I think I'm going to go for 16x7 in matte gunmetal, with 205/55/16 "tires".

The Enkeis will look lovely. Looking good forward to seeing how it looks with the new suspension and wheels on!

Oh me too! Finished up the rear last night, knocked my camera off something and broke the screen ðŸ˜
Going to be working on the front all day Saturday. Will post another update when it's all done.

Breaking my camera made me feel prarrie canoety, so I bought the Enkei Compe in Gunmetal, 15x7 ET0. Decided to drop down to 15" as I looked at some more photos with a 205/60 R15 tyre, and it's definitely the perfect look in my eyes.
Roll on April 21st!

I have friends that live in Dubai and their comments on petrol prices annoy me even more than this

I'm just in from finishing this off. Every part of me aches.
Suspension Part 3This was across two separate sessions. Everything arrived (although I was sent the wrong rear struts - quickly rectified). So, open a box: Rear spring comparison: Front spring comparison Rebuilding the shocks was very straight forward. Simply slide the new gas cartridge in, fill with oil and tighten up: And before you know it, you have two nice looking units to put back on the car: No photos of the reassembly of the fronts or putting everything back on the car - I needed both my hands! And the end result: Very happy. At some point when I was out buying something from Harbor Freight, I spotted this cool looking Cadillac in the car park:
