One thing I've been mulling over and haven't been able to find, is a digital dash that takes multiple inputs from sending units.
Obviously you can buy ScanGuages and similar that plug into your OBD2 port (if you have one) or OBD2 > Wireless/Bluetooth hardware and use an app on your phone, but we don't have OBD2 in our cars.
If you want individual Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, Coolant Temp, Boost, EGT, AFR (and possibly more?) gauges, then that's a lot of interior real estate. You could buy an expensive digital dash with rev counter, speedo, and all the legal requirements like lights, handbrake, indicators, and replace your standard dash, and that would let you add senders for all those extras, but why doesn't anyone make a little ScanGuage style box that accepts signal for 4 or more senders and you can have a nice svelte package that gives you some important readings?
I've searched and searched and can't find anything.

I also did some searching a few years ago but couldn’t find much.

What I really want is a Head-Up Display...

Which has had me thinking, if electric senders just send out a voltage, eg 0-5V, all you need to do is get the specs of the conversion - 0V = 0PSI to 5V = 100PSI - then you could make your own.

That doesn't say anything about how it gets the RPM - I'd be curious to know how.

I have an ME221, but that doesn't read coolant temp, oil temp, or oil pressure, same as the MegaSquirt didn't, I had an MS > Nexus 7 digi dash setup in my old MX5 but all you get is RPM and engine speed, and a few other pointless things, and you can't even do that with the ME. So you need to build a controller that interprets sender ouputs, and then add a screen. Found a few how tos for building your own with an Arduino and RPi3. Might give that a go if I can get it cheaper than the Zada setup. I should be able to as the Zada touchscreen setup looks like it'll cost about £400 once you add sensors.

There's plenty of information online about adding further sensors to Megasquirt - the MS2 has two ADC (JS4 & JS5) inputs specially for that kind of information. There's nothing stopping you from using those two inputs for oil pressure and temperature. They can pull from analog sensors that produce 0 - 5v. As with anything Megasquirt related, you just have to dig into stuff and figure it out. I'm fairly sure from memory, the MS2 read coolant temperature from the regular MX5 sensor just fine, as it uses the coolant temperature for the cold start enrichment. I don't know anything about the ME221 really, so can't comment. And yes, RPis are the answer to everything!

Since blowing up the MX5 engine, it seems like $200 for this is a good deal. 3 decent electrical gauges would be a minimum of £150, plus then some way of fitting it all. JRP offer a 10" screen and controller with all the sensors included for $200, and it has RPM, programmable warnings, and even has programmable rev/shift lights so I could sell my DRE and bring the price down. I might even get one for the Volvo too, see if they'll do me a discount for buying 2 sets.
