I'm a big fan of Nina Simone and have got some of her 'Greatest Hits' CDs, but there is some awesome stuff in this live recording that I've not heard before!

And for those with something to do that will take ages, but who are fed up with the repetitiveness of bloody radio shows...

Always upvote Lord of The Rings. Fantastic book and without doubt one of my favourite movies of all time, the whole trilogy was fantastic. Concerning Hobbits is one of my favourite pieces of music ever made.
Also I recently watched The Vietnam War on Netflix. Honestly incredible, 18 hours over 10 episodes, proper heavy watching, but what an unbelievable documentary. The soundtrack is also amazing, this is one of my favourites:

I don't know if if mentioned in this thread before, how much I love the music of Ennio Morricone. Here is a ~1 hour from the BBC Proms 2011, of several of his works, performed by the Spaghetti Western Orchestra.

Aye, Ennio Morricone is a genius.
Very good analysis of his spaghetti western music style :
Sort of 60s surfer rock reverb electric guitar meets "the sounds of the scenery".
Listen to this by Link Wray - you can kind of see how it fits in the general theme..
Anyway.. I recommend getting "A Fistful Of Film Music" and also the "Morricone RMX" and..
If you're feeling daring, try this .. Yup, he composed the sung music for the titles of a "Uccellacci e Uccellini" ("Hawks and Sparrows") - I enjoy the laugh when the singer sings Ennio's name.
And last but not least..
The Mission soundtrack. I need to watch this film again. Powerful film.
