Good! Sorry about your fingertip and hope that the infection left you without much hassle. All good thanks, and really pleased to have some feeling in my finger again. As a word of advice to anyone reading this... do not try to stop half a ton of plywood from falling over with one hand - if you do, it's not going to end well.

Popped down to this place this morning... I saw the pile of fives (the new collective noun) and knew I was in the right place.

If you are still after a rear diff casing, I probably have one spare...
Depending on what your definition of 'local' is I wouldn't mind checking out your seats as well - I'm considering a set of them for mine... If you are reasonably close to Bassett Down you probably aren't that far away from me..

If you are reasonably close to Bassett Down you probably aren't that far away from me.. I've decided to use the casing from my current open diff as it already has uprated bushes in. Unfortunately I'm nowhere near Bassett Down, but if you're ever near sunny Watford in Herts feel free to swing by and give the seats a test.

Today I fitted new door locks and replaced my old interior door handles. I had a pair of Carbon Miata handles that I bought for the last car and never fitted. The kit consists of the backing plate, main handle, locking slider and screw replacements for the rivets. Old handle (obviously ). This is the rivet that attaches the handle to the backing plate. I tried drilling it out, but the rivet was just spinning, so I got busy with the dremel. Assembled and ready to fit back on the car.

Yesterday I undid a bolt that I should not have done. The missing bolt is from the top door hinge - It's a locating pin used on the assembly line and you don't need to undo it to remove the door (I found out the hard way). If you undo this pin it will drop down into the A-pillar. canoe! Luckily It fell onto the top of the door loom. I could just about feel it with a finger, but couldn't get it out. I tried a mag-stick, but it was sticking to everything else except the bolt. Time to use the mag-finger technique. Find some small strong magnets and put them inside the finger of a latex glove. Put your finger in the hole and locate the dropped part. Voila! Now I can get back to the jobs that need doing rather than the jobs caused by my own feckwittery.

Still no news on the engine, so I thought I'd fit the amp.
