I’ve got my eye on an f-pace svr as our next family hauler. But I’m getting a hard ‘no’ from the financial controller.

Yeah, i'm looking at a super v8 right now, I kind of fancy the aj34s. They seem to be nice engines if thirsty, but that is expected with a sc v8. I actually started looking at new cars, but ended up with the realization that I don't like anything offered right now. All the nice cars are so massively expensive that the depreciation the first year alone buys me a jag or two. A lot of more sensible choices, yup. But where is the fun in that (famous last words) 😁 Considering SUVs, the jag suv is supposed to be nice, but I really don't like the type of car. I much prefer a minivan för space or something made for offroad for that. Sadly delica 4x4s are almost nonexistent in Sweden. The xc90 v8 has some merit in safety and engine sound, but it is still a SUV. My so has got a xc60, that is enough sensibility for our family

We were forced into the sq5 because my wife wanted an Audi. The Audi a4 only comes in that stupid all road thing (and no S or RS). No c class estate. Tailgate McNoIndicate have them but only with 4pot engines it seems (unless you go back to e46). the rs6 exists but only in the last couple of years and you are looking at $100k plus for something a year or two old. Which is crazy. very interested to know what you end up with.

Don't get an rs6, it's the perfect getaway car. Criminal elements will sneak around your house and try to snatch it. Seriously, the rs4 is the same, attracts much more attention than Tailgate McNoIndicate M's and such. Yeah, I'm kind of curious what I'll get myself. Probably the super v8 I'm oogling, unless a nice x350/x358 xjr appears. But the big cats are rare up north. Newer xjr's are slightly more common. But I kind of like the last generation of the old look. In the states, isn't the aston rapide ...cheap...isch? They're starting to get old, but I was considering one for sale locally until I calculated what it would cost to daily it here, in the snow. The trunk is small on them, so not that practical. That said, there is a dude around here that dailies his vantage. He's richer than me though

Well, the e91 is traded in and instead I now drive a supercharged kitty. Its quite nice. Wood everywhere, supercharger whine at WOT, electrical everything that can and maybe will break eventually. Loads of wood and chrome and i may have to start smoking a pipe and wearing tweed hats. It's fast enough, not like the Toyster, similar power/torque but ~700kg more, but enough to make me smile. I may try to get a jagdroid in it. It really need bluetooth connectivity. It could also use a nicer color, but I need to think about if it is worth the expense.

That was fast. If I remember it I'll try to get some nice pics sometime.
I may also have to look at the silencers. It a bit too discrete.

I’m in our cabin in Vermont and been skiing all weekend (very similar to skiing in Trysil, Sälen or Lillehammer - I.e. cold and icy) I am now sat in front of a fire with a glass of wine - I have nothing better to do than demand pictures of your new car.

Didn't you move to the states like three years ago? And you've got a house and already a cabin? Thats sweet Don't fracture anything important. Around here is "sport break" in schools now, so most that can afford it goes skiing. I However, need to cover at the job 😂

My poor burglars car is now full of child seats. In a month or two the littlest one will use a forward facing one, but this here is sad.

My poor burglars car is now full of child seats. In a month or two the littlest one will use a forward facing one, but this here is sad. Ignoring all the child related detritus, that looks like it's in really good condition. Did it come with the pipe and creepy old man smoking jacket?... Didn't you move to the states like thee years ago? And you've got a house and already a cabin? Thats sweet Don't fracture anything important. Around here is "sport break" in schools now, so most that can afford it goes skiing. I However, need to cover at the job 😂 I mentioned it because i know you lot love their lake cabins. I've spent a very lonely July in Oslo (I know that's Norway and it's not the same country) working with everything shut down for the month. I've also spent a night in Swedish hospital with concussion after skiing before. In the days before helmets were common. Went and bought one the next day... we had 'sports holiday' in Switzerland too. At a sensible time to go skiing. The only break they have here is Christmas (too cold/expensive) and bloody spring break in March. So we are going to val d'isere in march. hoping we will still have snow. But enough about me. When is your next track day?

It really is. Everything is working (well, apart from the cd changer), the interior is mint, exterior and mechanical perfect apart from small damage to the paint on the underside of the rear bumper, 3cm or so in diameter.
I have an urqe to start speaking queens english and dressing like I own an estate. But that would be slightly too eccentric in Sweden.
We do love cabins. I live a bit rurally, but I want one anyway. Maybe later, I sure don't have the time for that now. Advanced to a senior position and I'm the boss of my unit, so free time is a luxury I spend on other things right now.
I may have time for a trackday or two this summer, but we'll see. I'm not sure I still know how to drive fast.

Since this is mostly an "other things" thread at the moment the new jaaaag wheels need to be shown. Even though i liked the oem wheels I couldn't resist it when I found a used deal on 20" bbs ch-r. Two inches more makes it a little less silent, but the air suspension does its job very well and its not too uncomfortable. I'll change the tyres soon, more width will mean more noise but also more rubber between rim and tarmac.

Nothing much happening. But I did change tyres on the jaaaag some time back. I could stand the narrow chinese low profile thing something like 5 whole days. Pic for reference with my youngest trying to wash it.
