Favourite steering wheel?

Just reading through this old thread and wondered what steering wheels people are running and what's been their all time fave?

I've just gone back to a 350mm Momo Race, but still love my Personal Fittipaldi.

Here's (a bad) photo of the Race - if I can find a pic of the Fittipaldi I'll post it later.

Ships wheel is not so good for general driving so wouldn't recommend

I really quite like my re-trimmed standard wheel. As much as I'd like a Nardi or similar, I don't think it would suit my car. Plus keeping an OEM wheel preserved the airbag and controls, so no fiddling lights on the dash to pass MOT.
Retrimmed in real moo-cow, with red stitching. 2mm increase in thickness really makes a difference too.

I've a big fan of the original mk1's momo montecarlo, but for driving hard, in a sporty seat, up close to the wheel the prototipo comes out top.

I've replaced the montecarlo in my blue car with a refurbed momo cavallino sprint but I'm not getting rid of the monte carlo :-)

I think mine's a Prototipo?? It has an extra leather bit on the bottom spoke, though, so I'm not sure if it's a custom job or something.

Either way, I like it but it does increase steering effort because it's smaller, and I can't see half the dials... lol

Prototipos always have 3 holes on the centre spoke. that' something else but might still be a momo :-) but it is nice.

wannabe it's no momo because it is on a nardi bolt pattern but momo make something similar called the model 07.

My Cavallino .. a prarrie canoee photo, it's been refurbed and it feels amazing, really good in a 'standard seat mk1' - it would not work in a bucket seat setup however!

I bought one for my 200tdi Landrover Discovery (the disco & Fittipaldi are both green)

it feels 'right' - no other explaination

as to the '5, it had a standard Eunos Momo offering but now a slightly smaller diameter but thicker rimmed Momo is fitted (sorry no photo...)

It has 'Made in Italy' stamped on the back but that appears to be it for identification markings, so I've no idea who made it! It seems to be very similar to the Prototipo wheels but has leather where the third hole on the spokes would be - I've never seen another one like it!

I've no idea what the boss is either - it looks solid but like it's made out of stiff foam, but TBH I've never felt it up to find out... lol

Is it the case that the Momos have a bolts in a hexagonal shape with one at 12 o'clock, but the Nardis also have bolts in a hexagonal pattern but a 'flat top' with the top two, if that makes sense??

Correct. Nardi wheels have a slightly different bolt spacing to the Momo too, so a Nardi wheel won't fit on a Momo boss and vice versa.

Just realised that I have the same wheel as you on my Eunos, was on a rotten UK spec 1990 car I broke (car had a 1.8 transplant supposedly from a 1995 car).

like you I have opted to drop the padded leather centre & just use a 'normal' Momo horn button

it's nice enough to drive with but not quite to my taste, maybe its the leather on the spokes
