That sounds promising! Hopefully that sorts it!

Chips arrived. .. started taking mine apart.
Yeah the water ingress it was past the glass, where the glass fronts had delaminated. I've put a load of silicone all around the edges now (pushing in, as it were)..
I'd suggest you get that done yourself and try blowing past the edges to see.

Yeah well, didn't go well. I did the job. Sealed them up in all the right spots with some high grade RTV.
Still letting water in. What can I say but don't buy 3d printed products, they'll delaminate quicker than you can blink.
Not for road use and not for off-road use either, frankly.

8. Back on the road.It suddenly dawned on me that I haven't updated this thread for a while. I did some work to the rear end; I did a bumper cut and fitted a Davefab rear jacking bar. I also treated myself to a 'Bikini' top. I've taken my KG spoiler off for paint - and haven't had a chance to get it sorted yet! - Looks bare without it I also changed my steering wheel, a Prototipo came up at a good price, and i couldn't resist. All was looking good, was able to do some test runs. Found the old clutch was slipping at 10psi. Turned out that I had been sold a 1.6 clutch and flywheel. Quick visit to Bofi's web store and a couple evenings on my back, we had a new Bofi clutch and my OE 1.8 flywheel installed. The car was FINALLY all buttoned up, MOT'd and working well. Was able to get some remote tuning done and it so far so good! Obligatory "first car wash in months" pic I've had some teething problems that have since been sorted, and I still have some fine tuning to do. I also need to focus my time on the interior and get that how I want it. But she is on the road just in time to enjoy the latter part of the year. Crumpets

Nice, you should get some drives out of it before the seasons over I would imagine. Looks proper I've been spending months deliberating wheel spec's, and even though I know what I'm doing and where i need them to be I still think I'm being too much of a pussy on the fitment aggression when I see people running 15x8J +0 with 205/50s. I assume you've had the front and rear arch lips rolled in at the least but surely there must be some rubbing under compressions? I'm 185/60 14x6J +18 with -2F -1.8R camber and Llandow curbs made some wonderful tyre to arch noises . I need to pick up a cheap set of wheels before throwing a months salary at some wheels that take months to be made/shipped

Driving it is exactly what I've been doing! Driving it as much as I can, haha! I've had to install Japspeed rear upper arms to bring the camber in; all done by eye at the moment, but that stopped the rear rubbing. I've also had the arched pulled/rolled fairly heavily. The front does occasionally rub, but only upon the perfect speed/compression/angle. It's not bothered me much, but I will get around to sorting it when I get the geometry fully dialled. (Pic for referance of fitment) Looks good. Where did you get the bikini top from? Thanks howardb66 , The Bikini top was from a company called MT Works, they call it the Airetop.

9. 'Tarting it up'I've spent a lot of time driving the car, enjoying it. Some worthwile updates to note: I got my 'KG works' spoiler back from paint. It really finishes off the rear end in my opinion. I picked up a tatty hardtop fairly cheap, and also bought and installed a Sparco seat.
As of recent, I've FINALLY received my HKS Kansai Service bumper and Bomex skirts back from repair & paint. You'd better believe that I fitted them instantly! It's EXACTLY how I wanted the car to look, better even to how I could have imagined it. I remember a not too long ago, when batou said: I like the "aiming to cap at 250" . I suggest you print that quote off, frame it, and hang it on the garage wall to remind you of you that when your chasing 300+ Yes, well, erm. I've been buying bits behind the scenes, and it won't be too long before this post has details on my forged engine build that I will be embarking upon soon. Have all the bits; just researching a good machine shop near me Until then! - Crumpets

No problem, glad your getting some use out of it. In that gap I skipped the interim test fit wheels and ordered a set of Work Equips in reasonably aggressive dish (ie. more than 3" in the rears lol) so no turning back now. The offset is a tiny bit higher than zero incase I need to run a small spacer for the brakes (on 1.6 calipers so probably fine for now) or go for some wider track destroyordie front arms in the future. Thanks for the info, your car looks to have a higher ride height than what I'm at so that might be why I can probably get a bit more camber on the rears (I had it set at -1.8 apparently, but it looks a bit more to me tbh) without changing the arms. I might end up fitting some different rear arms at somepoint too. I'll be going for some 195/50s but most likely in a R compound tyre so I will certainly have to do some rolling, don't really want to pull the rears if I can help it though (had new rear quarter panels in 2019), I've rolled my fronts a bit already which need replacing anyway but I have some brand new unpainted fronts ready which won't be an issue to work on. Might get a proper guy in to do the rolling in all honesty as no doubt I'll make them look like crispy bacon lol. Your fronts sound like mine at the moment, only really big compressions or very hard, tight turns (I think I need to roll the passenger side a little more as my right side is fine). Good luck on the engine build

Looking seriously good now, bumper and skirts really add to the overall look. Wonder where the new power goals are

10. Refinements
7 Months on! Wow. Time flies! The car was stored over the winter; and has been out and about for around a Month or so. I've made some minor changes here and there... I've sourced, painted and fitted a HKS rear ducktail to match the theme to my HKS Bumper & Exhaust. Furthermore, I was also (Somehow) able to convince Vindi (Russell) to sell me my absolute dream wheels - The fantastic SSR Professor SP1's. I've been also working on some little bits both in the bay and inside. So far I've attended two shows this year, Castle Coombe Spring Action Day & Japfest 22' Both fantastic days. - I hope to be able to get out to more this year; would be good to put a face to a name with some of you.
Wonder where the new power goals are As far as the engine build / More boost goes, I have been collecting engine parts and have a collection of "Fast bits" .. Ideally, I'm aiming for it to start with a 3; but without having 6 speeds turn into cheese. But after spending my engine machining savings on new wheels; that might have been pushed back a little.
However, that being said...
I met up with a friend at Japfest that has recently 'Smoothed' his engine bay for that 'show car' look, and whilst I thought that was a waste of time at first, the final product has made me think twice. .... This is going to get even more expensive, isn't it Until next time, (Hopefully sooner than another 7 months) Crumpets

would be good to put a face to a name with some of you. be carefull what you wish for, might end up scarred for life I met up with a friend at Japfest that has recently 'Smoothed' his engine bay for that 'show car' look, and whilst I thought that was a waste of time at first, the final product has made me think twice don't do it, easy to smooth but filler can crack especially if you've hard suspension & interesting tyre sizes (also bad roads?) as to wiring, thats another challenge... This is going to get even more expensive, isn't it you're only now discovering this? Rich.

Such a cool car!! I wasn't going to sell the wheels, but on talking to you it did seem like the right place for them to be ... plus I have to admit they do look good on here! It's enabled you to get your dream wheels and through some perfect timing I found my dream wheels on Yahoo Auctions Japan a few weeks later. So weird to find American wheels in Japan of all places, and the first set I've seen in a couple of years!!
