I think my concerns are that something stuck on won't be stuck for long, and anything secured more, er, securely will damage the seat!

I had been looking for some better seats for my NB for a couple of years on and off and then by chance got these. See below for explanation. I've now got the seats into my 1999 MK-2 NB. It was a bit of a fap. Having to modify seat rails and so on. But now they recline and go backwards and forward on Mazda seat rails. (when I bought them I thought they where on MK2 runners. They weren't) And they are very comfortable, unlike the seats in my VX220 Turbo that people rave about, hmmmm. I don't know what these seats where from but they fit beautifully into the NB. The unexpected BIG BONUS is that I sit a true 2" lower in them than the MK2.5 NB seats I had in there before. I'm 6'0" tall with a 34" waist and I can stretch my left leg out straight with the foot rest removed and the seat one click off maximum set back. All in all well worth the swap if you can find a pair. Difficult to see in pictures but here are some anyway. Regards. Rich.

Thanks for the pics!
Do the headrests go above / level with the top of your head?
The lower back support looks a bit lacking (so many seats seem to just have a straight bit of board) but I'm apparently the only person in the world with a spine made of cheese that needs it!

Wannabe. However I sit in the seat my head is always at least 1 and 1/2" BELOW the top of the seat. I like a very upright position like a Touring Car seat.
The back of the seat is very 'elastic' it is not a hard board type and surprisingly comfortable. In my VX220 Turbo I have larger inflatable than standard bladders. These are aftermarket ones and could very easily be put in these seats or you could use a bolster. Surprisingly some of the very best bolsters I've used in the past and the smallest ones have been designed for London taxi cab drivers.
Regards. Rich.
ps just for interest I paid £300 for the pair of seats.
Unlike the chancer who has a very similar pair on e-bay now for, wait for it ....... £2000, yes, £2000!

May I be annoying and ask for a link to the ebay seats, so I can keep an eye out for a cheaper set? I may need to look at extra seat bolsters whatever I get TBH, lol.

Not a problem. They are not exactly like mine but very similar. I don't think as good with the side support though.

Wannabe. I've just joined a Facebook group called Rare and Vintage Miata parts. There have been some seats on there. Not exactly like mine but some interesting seats none the less.
I don't like what I've seen of FB so far but I'm trying to wrap my mind around it.
Regards. Rich.

sorry for my cynicism but.... Rare = nobody bought them, possibly due to cost or.... Vintage = old but I don't get the jdm obsession either..... Rich.

Hello wannabe. I've just seen a pair of the seats I now use sell on one of the many MX-5 groups out there, MX-5AVAGE. This doesn't help you ..... but .....
I now think that the seats that I use are called .... OMP Strada seats. Now that might help you.
Regards. Rich.

That's a great price. They are just lovely seats and fit so well, but ..... It's taken me a long time of faffing about to get them to work like you would want them to. For fitting into a MK2 you will need to heavily modify the original MK2 seat rails, but it's not a brain melt situation just a bugger. One of my seats had a rail already welded to it but with no seat belt bracket. I decided to work with that rail rather than take it off. This meant stripping down the MK 2 rail and grinding off the seat belt mount and modifying it to weld back onto the rail. The drivers seat was a lot easier as it had no rails on it. Here it is in position. From here it was just cleaning up for the weld, welding and then spraying to match. Regards. Rich.
