That's not a bad suggestion in all fairness, have the ND 1.5's dropped off a price cliff recently? That's a better suggestion than the MR2/MRS. Could get rid of the daily driver and just have 1 car.

Easy, I'd go for a WRX Sti every time. 2.0 litre. Drive one, confirm you love it, buy it.

I had a UK Impreza turbo 2000 wagon a few years back, with the Prodrive WR package - remapped ecu, Prodrive STI Bilstein suspension, zorst, 16" TE37s. Amazing car, crazy fast on B roads, and practical as well. Mind you, they rot even worse than MX5s, so there's a lot of junk out there. And not a lot of use in low emission zones.......

And not a lot of use in low emission zones....... If you mean all WRX/STI's, that's not the case. Some are, some aren't, and some need a certificate from Japan. Plenty of info on Scoobynet to help make the right choice when buying.

Keep mx5, get motorcycle for summer commuting. Get 4wd subaru for towing and winter duty.
MRS is nice. Lots of cars are nice. Most is transiently nice and i miss my miata for fun driving. That said i would like a nice mini van. Anyone have a lhd delica 4x4 to part with?

Ok, so I put my car up for sale but I've decided to bin the ad. I kinda feel like there's no point selling my car and I'll just end up regretting it.
Looking at other cars, whatever I get I will end up tinkering & modifying it. Of all the "fun" cars out there, the MX5 is still the cheapest platform to mess around with. I've already got my car at a level I'm happy with so I think I should just enjoy it, at least for another year anyways and go from there.
Urgh.

Speaking from experience. I currently have an mk1 mx5 and an ep3.
The ep3 is fast but frankly not as fun. Right now the alarm is also effed in some way. It's not been the most reliable.
The mx5 has stood up to much abuse and tinkering. Even with my fists of ham. Other cars may be faster but not as fun and engaging to drive as a stock-ish mx5.
Enjoy your car. Mx5 is the answer etc...
