Can I ask what you did with the stuff that normally goes in the centre console when you made your dash up? I.e. The heater controls and stereo? Looks the tits, love the gauges!

The heater controls are in the glovebox area. What's a stereo? Just adds unecessary weight, as do the speakers. I like listening to the whine of the supercharger

Have decided not to Canoe about and now have RX8 yellow injectors in the post rather than the beige 1.8 ones I've had sitting in the garage for 12 months. . .
I may as well do it properly seeing as I have to do loads of dismantling under the bonnet anyway.

Time to record the enhancements to my supercharger set-up for posterity! Made a start today by dropping the intercooler about 2 inches and moving it backwards to make way for the intercooler and 2.5 inch pipework. First, removed the crossover pipe. . . Loads of space! Then took a look at the radiator hanging brackets. It looked like I could use the lower bolt as an alternative mounting? (View of left hand bracket) I removed the brackets (M6 10mm heads) and the bolts below (the front one visible through the hole in the bracket and another hidden behind the bracket that hold the sway bar bracket on M8 12mm heads). (View of right hand side) Then I re-drilled the bolt holes (8mm drill bit) to correspond with the lower hole). . . (Right hand bracket) Then on test fitting I found the bracket fouled the strengthening pressing on the sway bar bracket (pictured here - left of the rear lower bolt holes, left hand side bracket): My solution was to modify the bracket to clear it with my Dremel! (Left hand bracket) Repeating this on the right side too and bolted the brackets back in (Got fed up of working around the radiator at this point and drained and removed it hahaha ). After test fitting the radiator it wouldn't go low enough as the metal under the top mounts fouled the sides of the engine bay. Out with the Dremel again. I cut away a small triangle of metal under each mount to give more clearance. After doing this the radiator dropped right in and could be tilted back at the perfect angle to provide clearance for the intercooler/Pipework. I will make up some extended top mounts for the radiator tomorrow. Need to buy some flexible coolant pipes as well, as the standard ones no longer fit.

Hmmmmmmm. Whilst I'm under the bonnet, why don't I remove that redundant bracket on the side of the thermostat housing. . . Oh Canoe it! Sheared bolt and broken sensor.

Ah well. Had a sulk and a cup of tea and cracked on. Removed the crank pulley wheel and fitted the 150mm overlay. Then made up 2×brackets to lower the upper radiator mount from a spare strip of aluminium I had lying around. Ran a long M8 bolt with some washers and a holding nut through the radiator mount . . . . . . and in place (retaining nuts at the new bracket end still to add as I want to get some nylock ones). .

Good to see you back on it. I think everyone's sheared that sensor at some point!

Got home from a few days away this afternoon and got straight on it. Chop chop. Got my Dremel (favourite tool) out and cut the front panel to accommodate the intercooler pipes Trimmed both sides with some vacuum hose I had lying around. . . Made some steel brackets up (only one shown here) and test fitted the intercooler. Big push to complete all the intercooler fitting tomorrow.

Wife has stopped play. Had a complete meltdown because I've spent 6 hrs working on the car this week. Not going to get this finished for a while now. Not worth the grief. Bus for me for the foreseeable future.

Great work so far and looking similar to my setup! Neat solution for the lower rad mount, I attacked it a different way and raised the pin but I still need to go lower so this is a great idea.
For the top mount, get a rubber bobbin, it'll look neater and do a better job.
Wife... you're on your own there!

Nice work with the edging on those cutouts. It's touches like that which make the job look proper professional. Tell the wife to pipe down, get it finished, and get to a Sussex meet yeah?
