Hi there. A little help please.
Has anyone fitted a Mk2.5 instrument cluster into a Mk2?
I have but there are some differences in the wiring.
(I don't give a "Monkey" about the odometer reading.)
So, when the Mk2.5 cluster is in the Mk2 ......
The full beam blue warning light on the 2.5 cluster does not illuminate when on full beam. Some of the gauges, petrol for sure, do not illuminate when the lights are on. Think that's it.
But I can tell you that all is well on both clusters when they are in their respective vehicles so it's not the clusters.
So before I start poking about with a probe do any of you know the answers please or a link to a solution. I've thrashed about on the interweb but so far, nothing.
Thank you for any assistance. Regards. Rich.

Can you get them side by side and have a close look at the circuits?

Hi there. Well I've sorted out all the "bugs" now and my Mk2.5 dash works a treat in my Mk2 car. All it needed was one wire carefully soldering into place on the Mk2.5 pcb and that sorted the headlight warning light not coming on problem. The illumination problem I thought I had was a faulty lamp holder, the tiny plastic ones. Once I swapped that over all was well. Here is a picture of the only modification needed to make a Mk2.5 instrument cluster work with the standard Mk2 wiring. It's so simple, when you know how. It's just the addition of a ground wire to the pcb as shown. Regards. Rich.
