Ooooh that looks cool. Do hang around here and keep us updated on life with this one. While we all love MX5s and it's nice to read some none roadster content.

It's interesting driving something so light and in a different way interesting being a kitcar as you have to really check exactly what parts are on the car. Fortunately this being factory built they've used the 'right' stuff, or at least consistent i.e. 2.0l Sierra running gear, discs all round and Cossie LSD. It's a really sound basis to work from and I'm convinced for what I paid on it in the midst of winter, I'll get back what I paid for it if I ever decide to sell.
The other thing I really like is very close ratio, clutch less sequential gear changes Only geared for 120mph though but for the tracks I like that should be fine.

First track day at Blyton in the bag, only passed by one car all day (a civic touring rep car on slicks) when giving a passenger run, had him back in the afternoon though. One small issue when the throttle got stuck wide open when something got caught by the pedal but once I'd changed my trousers everything was OK.

Well I forgot all about this thread. Cars done some good mileage on track now and though there's been some ups and downs it's now very reliable. Note to anyone that's gets a BEC, the voltage regulators get frickin hot and can't live with running at high revs for prolonged periods.
Other than that, the low weight means tyre and brake wear are extremely low despite good performance on track. Blyton is the perfect size for it, good round Croft and Oulton but it's running out of top end puff on the back 'straight' at Caldwell. Only a minor frustration though.
Took my mk3 sport out for the last session of the day at Blyton last time. Now to be fair I wasn't as committed in the MX5 as didn't wantbto hit a cone (or bin it) but was 11 seconds a lap quicker on best time in the Indy......
