So we're on hols and I manage to lose the screw petrol cap (don't ask!) I bought one of those temporary push-in caps but we're doing a lot of twisties and the car's stinking of petrol So anyone know if there's another manufacturer's cap which will fit please? There are lots of Fiat, Renault and some Ford dealers around but Mazda dealers are almost non-existant. I wondered if a Fiesta one would fit? If so what mark? TIA. Cheers, Pewe.

Peter, I shouldn't laugh, but I did.
I've got no idea of any others that would fit. Maybe try a few at a breakers?

Nick, I suppose it serves me right for bigging it up about not going to KrispyKreams last week.... Breakers, like Mazda dealers, are few and far between - guess we'll just have to live with it and not brim it. Might post on MX5Italia and see what response. Safe driving all. Cheers, Pewe.

Just finished handbrake adjustment - went all slack but maybe that was due to exuberant drive up and down C ol de Bonnet followed by Col de Turini. Think I've got a big smile on -you bet!!! Cheers, Pewe.

Thanks,John but we're in Italy. Bought one from what must be the only accessory shop left in this part of the world. So for future reference it is, as I suspected, a Jap parts bin special - same as Subaru, Mitsubishi,Nissan,Isuzu and, would you believe it, VW Golf? Now where are those swimming trunks?⛱️ Cheers,Pewe

I'm pretty sure that Autolink will deliver to mainland Europe, and I'm sure they would have some second-hand fuel caps [EDIT: Oh I think you have one now anyway, reading your last post again]

So the petrol cap turned out to be the least of our worries. See my post about NA coolant loss BTW it is a parts-bin special - fits Nissan, Mitsubishi, Subaru and VW Golf (& presumably Seat/Skoda). Cheers, Pewe

Cheers, Pewe. I had serious brake fade on col du turini. Or I boiled my fluid. Whatever it was, it was pretty terrifying on the downhill bits that are quite steep. Spongy brakes no funny I thought my foot was going to go through the floor trying to make the car stop. But I didn't die and when everything cooled down after another car had an incident all was well.

Actually I was pleased I'd previously used/fitted Castrol React and Yellow Stuff pads plus 1.8 discs. Having been pursued by a Sports Bike for some miles down the CdT I finally decided to back off and let him past having had the fronts chirrupping under braking into a few hairpins! Surprisingly SWMBO reckoned it was like a cross between a roller coaster and dodgem ride - bless her!!

A 'perma ' cap thingy would prevent this happening in future, going to get myself one soon.
