So reading through this list, all Mk2 were fitted with LSD from factory...?

I recall there was a picture guide elsewhere - is there an easy way to tell which is which?? And I guess the question is... which is betterer lol

Only real way of telling is taking them out and looking through the diff with the shafts removed.

Nevada models in 1.8 don't have them in some but do in others apparently.

So reading through this list, all Mk2 were fitted with LSD from factory...? No, most UK models didn't. The list is just covering the models that did have LSDs. The iS was the top spec standard car, but there were 2 models below that, and they were the biggest sellers. In Japan, most but not all had LSDs. Russell

i have a 2001 SVT 1.8 with the 6spd MT. Does that mean I have the 3.6 Torsen 2 or the 3.6 Fuji ? I think what you have written means I have the torsen, I thought I had the Fuji.

woohoo ! that means I can see if anyone going FI wants to swap it for a 4.1 torsen 2 I will have to look at those diff guides to see if I can identify it. though probably means taking it off the car.

You might find you can see enough through the oil filler hole to identify the characteristic small straight-cut and helical gears of a torsen, though you might have to turn an axle to bring them into view.
(This was taken with a cheapo USB endoscope plugged into my phone but the camera head was only just inside the oil filler hole)
