Hi chaps, Quick question, I bought my mx5 with the issue however am not using it as I plan a full strip down and refurb inc my turbo setup in June when I move into my new house with a garage, cut a long story short when I bought the car it was delivered on a transporter and the battery was flat so charged it over night and put it on the following morning, started first time, sounded a little lumpy though like it was running on 3 cylinders on and off, but then sounded fine, however, when you give her a Rev be it in neutral or when coming to a stop the car try's to stall then picks up and does this 5 or six times before stabilising So what is it!! Idle control valve? Crap battery connection? Something else? Not too sure, haven't been able to take bits of as have no space to where I'm temporarily staying till my house is built so I'm just running it through my mind constantly trying to find the answer haha
Thanks

So the car is completely standard now?
Have you tried setting the base idle?

I'd try cleaning out the idle control valve and throttle body with some carb cleaner next.
