Hi guys and girls,
So, I got my MS3 through yesterday. After speaking to Rev and getting the WBO2 and IAT settings set correctly, I'm now at the point where the car starts off maybe 2 more turns than OEM, warms up, and idles in closed loop at 14.7:1
So, to you guys out there, where do I go next? I've got Mr Slow's idle tuning guide from the other forum, which I'm going to be looking at, but does anyone know of any other info on what I should be looking to set up in what order?
I'm looking to get to the point where the car is driveable, before I can take it to a rolling road to have ignition / fuelling maps done properly. I shelled out for the full version of Autotune, so have VE analyse live.
Any advice is welcome, along with links / info for me to work thorough.
Ta Dale

Mapping.. properly dyno mapping. You can tune your fuel pretty close with auto tune but good luck getting the ignition timing in a good spot on the road. Also knowing reverents maps the engine will probably already be pinking a bit.

Hi Nick,
Yeah, well aware that I wont be able to sort the timing without a RR - I've been recommended Evotune up here by the local mx5 lot, they specialize in Megasquirts but are unable to fit it in before April 11th though.
Ive set the MS up so I can see the knock warning on the TS display, and the software has knock control turned on and set to aggressive mode so it will back the timing off heavily if it does. Its noticeably flatter than OEM, and it doesnt feel like VVT is kicking in, but its AFR ratio's look to be safe, its running low 13's under acceleration, and high 13's to mid 14's on a steady throttle.
Just wanted an idea if theres anything I can do in the short term to help things along - even if that's as simple as a suggested conservative spark map. Fortunately I've left it in a position that I can drop the OEM MAF / IAT and ECU back in swiftly.
I think I may end up going to Blink i'm im honest... unless there's someone a bit closer to newcastle that's recommended.

Autotronix in Sheffield would be my only suggestion other than ourselves.

Thanks Nick - I've got it to a point now (after realizing i'd left the advance fixed at 5 degrees after setting base timing..) where it feels like stock but crisper, and its made the AFR's much more consistent, so I'm comfortable with driving it a distance to a tuner now.
I've tried to get an answer for the past day or so for the open loop idle tuning part of Mr Slow's article - specifically references to "open loop table" and "open loop curve" that he makes.
I'm assuming he means Fuel VE table 1 for the first, but not sure what he's referring to with the curve. I want to get the idle as clean as possible open loop so CL has an easier time of it, and from reading, that something I will have to do myself.
