Hi.Im new on here and hopping to buy a nice Mk1.
I've owned a couple of TVRs in the past as well as an S1 Elise. Currently don't have a road going toy as I'm hillclimbing a small single seater, ( Force PT ). I'm loving the competition but missing having a road car so the hunt is on.
Ideally I'm wanting a clean Mk1 with tasteful performance mods. Something on ITB with good power/torque would be great or would look at Turbos too. Preference is white or dark blue/black/green etc..
Looking at the members cars thread on here it appears this site leans more towards performance mods rather than slammed/tuner stuff so hopefully a car along these lines will pops up for sale at some point,( cash waiting ).
Looking forward to it and hopefully getting to meet a few other owners.
If anyone has something similar and is thinking of selling please drop me a text. I'm in Leeds and on 07768466636. Thanks, Ed

Did you used to have a Griffith? Think I recognize your username from PH.
Still got my Griffith although have retired it from hill climbing & sprints. Now messing around with a SC MX5 which is just as much fun.

Yep had a Griff 500 before selling it to go hillclimbing. I'm really enjoying it , ( the Force is circa 620 bhp per ton so great fun ), but wanting a road car again but can't afford another Griff and figure a well modded MX5 could be just the thing. Glad to hear you find them fun too. Do you hillclimb it? Ed Did you used to have a Griffith? Think I recognize your username from PH. Hi Ed, thought it was you. Yes, I Sprint & Hillclimb the MX5 in the ‘Classic Marques Speed Championship’ which is based on power to weight not CCs so the Mazda is very competitive as they handle so well. The next month or so is a good time to pick one up. Look out for sill rot but nothing is unfixable & the spares(upgrades!!!) are nowhere as expensive as the TVR.

Good stuff. Yes since starting to look for a car I've been exposed to just how much there is available for this cars at very sensible prices. Ultimately I'm hoping to buy/develop a cut price modern day fast road spec Elan..Looking at some of the cars on here it seems viable to create a really nice little car for £5k..Unfortunately I don't have the time or space to do too much work to develop a car from a base up therefore I'm hoping to find something that's already had a lot of nice work done and then take it from there. Will keep looking. Cheers, Ed Hi Ed, thought it was you.
