What would you say a basic budget is for just getting on the grid for a year is?

Going from absolutely nothing it would be approx:
£350 - Nat be licence test £1000 - Suit, helmet, HANs device, gloves underwear etc £5000 - Used race car and trailer £175 - Championship entry fee £15 - Max5 Club membership fee £90 - BARC membership fee £4000 - Race entry fees £3000 - Accommodation, fuel, tyres, brakes etc etc for the season.
£13630. You could probably trim a bit off that if your very budget limited and sleep in a tent/your car. Smash the car up at any point and then you've got a lot more expense!
Season 2 will be much cheaper as you already have all the gear.
This is why I bought the car with Roger and we're just doing a handful of race weekends between us. I can't afford a whole season.

Cool, thanks for info. Something I have always wanted to do... By budget is beyond me at the moment. But good to know.
