I’m after a flywheel for a mk1 1.8, anybody got one kicking around? Iirc, all 1.8 an/no/nbfl have same flywheel? Any on eBay etc? (Or are they stupidly priced?) I Might have one, the guy I bought my car from said he’d replaced the flywheel & clutch prior to sale, as with other ‘improvements’ that he had done being the forum & Facebook favourites (remo power steering & aircon as well as a mk2 dashboard swap) I’m guessing he upgraded to the larger 1.8 setup??? but that all depends on what’s found when I open the engine/gearbox on my car, you in a hurry or is this pre-emptive? Rich.

I've got one in my garage, it's a BPR7 which is the lighter weight version fitted to the MK1 1.8rs and later models. It can be safely and cheaply lightened to around 5.5kg just by removing the inertia ring unlike the earlier version(pre 95) No idea what it's worth? I'd be happy with £15 if you want to collect it, postage would probably be quite pricey. I'm in Southend on sea, no idea where you're based?

No worries, definitely grab yourself a bpr7 and take it to a local machine shop and get them to remove the inertia ring and reface the mating surface, dirt cheap and one of the best bang for buck mods I have ever made(providing you've got everything in pieces already) Makes changing gear lightning fast.

Well spotted, and not too far away, but I think I’d rather just buy a flywheel

Well spotted, and not too far away, but I think I’d rather just buy a flywheel ha. I want the flywheel-end of a crankshaft as a machining aid (for diferent flywheel altering ) maybe I'll bid, the outlaws are this side of the bridge so its not that far to drive over when visiting them Rich.

Fraught times ahead, for the first time in my life I am going to entrust my car to a garage for a clutch/flywheel change, nobody has ever worked on any of my cars, not sleeping well!

I know the feeling, will not trust unknowns to fiddle and don't get me started on welding - theres plenty of 'professionals' that should be banned from going near welding equipment Rich.
