Hi, I am Dan Silva, I have been looking for a MX-5 forum lately and found this place in PistonHead. I have recently acquired a MX-5 2011 Kendo 1.8 Dolphin Grey. Lovely little car, first time I have ever owned a MX-5 or any sports for that matter. I hope I can ask here for good advice and tips to keep this car running for many years to come. Perhaps I can start with asking how to treat rust issues on MX-5. I have some rust on the underbody. I was wondering if I could take this to a garage, workshop, body repair work place to have to treated/ galvanised so the rust will be occurring at a very low level? Any one has any recommendations or any advice/ tips?
Many thanks

Yes I know tell me about it. However it is not as bad I expected. Just some rust building up under rear suspension. I wont be able to do anything (treating) myself as I do not have a garage nor tools to do it. I wouldnt mind paying little bit money to keep the car in good condition. Its just a superb car, I do care for it's longevity. I was very well aware of the rusting issue but that didnt put me off buying it (I maybe stupid but I gotta experience it this life time) š

I like your enthusiasm!! My MOT is due in May so lets see what the MOT man says. It drives well. I will keep looking for a garage that does rust restoration works. I would rather spend few more quids and kee this baby happy and running for as long as she can!!
