Hi all, a quick question regarding battery holders...
On a MK1, what actually holds the battery in place? On my car, there is a right angle bracket that bolts to the boot floor around the foot of the battery. I also have a distinctly monkey bit of clearly aftermarket metal clamping the battery down to the floor between the terminals. But I'm wondering what factory solution was?
Assuming I may link to a site, would I need the top three items on this page to clamp the battery properly as per the factory?
Thanks

I've been wondering this myself! All I have is a bolt through the floor and a piece of metal holding one side of the base down... From what I can tell, if we're running a normal size (for the UK) battery (is it an 059 size??) we need the Big Battery Kit: www.mx5parts.co.uk/battery-fitting-mk1-p-3676.htmland it would have to be installed to look something like the pictures on this page (ignoring the modifying detailed): www.villacorte.com/miata/optima_red_top_battery/index.html I can't work out from the pictures how it's held down at the back (of the picture, behind the battery), though?? I'm assuming we don't need the breather pipe arrangement now most (all?) batteries are Sealed Unit... Don't forget Autolink has some of the parts for cheaper
