Does anyone know the O/A length of a 1.8 mk1 MAF?
From what I can find it's 2.75"/70mm on both the inlet and outlet, but I can't find anywhere that lists the length. I'll check mine at the weekend if not.
Also for inserting an IAT, is it just a simple case of drill/tap hole and screw in IAT? or do you need some thread lock/PTFE etc. to ensure an air tight fit?
Thanks.

Hi Scottydugg, I have one to measure. Its 125mm long according to my digital calipers. Are you fitting a plain pipe in place of the MAF ? Where are you fitting the new MAF ? If it is thin wall pipe some silicone sealant will help seal it/ hold it in place. JB weld works well on Alloy but not so well on plastic to build a boss up. Mine is fitted to a flat alloy backplate with a nut and loctite.

I see a few people online that can manufacture exactly what you need with a welded boss etc., but that's for further down the line maybe. I'm intending fitting the MAF in the stock area, as I've a Randall intake/ARC chamber. I was going to put it in the inlet manifold but want to keep it reversible for now. I've also got a MAF delete harness from DIY-EFI so that should keep it tidy.
