IL Motorsports manifold on a Mk1 NA - anyone had experience?

As I'm apparently incapable of saving money and I need to (pay someone to...) get the manifold off the downpipe anyway to fix the blown gasket, I'm looking at the IL Motorsports manifold:

Has anyone run one? Are they decent quality? Will it help give me flames with the no-cat system?


It looks like norton might have one but I'm not sure which model he's got - the mention of a manifold and remap makes me think mk3...:

for ~300 notes I'd suggest a proper manifold as opposed to a sorta oem copy

But what other options are there?!

Racing Beat? Chinese ebay specials? Do Cobalt do one?


And do they terminate at the same place and in the same format as the OEM version, so it will fit my AK exhaust?!

Something with equal length headers, made out of Ti or inconel would be nice, but I'm not that rich or skilled lol


I might be able to get hold of an IL one for a cheaper price, so I'm sort of thinking that if it's no better/worse in performance than OEM, but has better longevity than OEM (seeing as mine appears to have been welded a million times), it's not a total waste of money...

I've a spare standard 1.6 manifold & downpipe.....

never been OR needed welding....
