Watched far more of that than I meant to, can certainly see the appeal of ITB's, can you even hear the exhaust over them? Video editing looks good, a ginger beard in a black 5, like looking in a mirror

Video editing looks good, a ginger beard in a black 5, like looking in a mirror Lmao, the exhaust pops are loud af (theres a sound check at the end of the vid in the timeline) and the balance is perfect really, the mic in this vid is about 10cm from the velocity stacks which is why its this loud. Thanks, I need to work on my b-roll skills as I just through together the intro shots but just working on getting more stuff filmed when I can. Hahaha, I actually have blonde hair and most of the beard is blonde/brown but you can never avoid a bit of ginge when the light is right lololol

SUSPENSION & CHASSIS# IL Motorsport Hardened Rubber Bushings# Maruha Complete rear suspension bolt kit (mar18080801)# SuperPro Rear Differential Void Filling Kit# Refurbished OEM Mazda Rear Subframe, Suspension Arms and Chassis Brace# Refurbished OEM Mazda Front & Rear Anti Roll BarsBeen a while, its quite out of date so about time I got round to adding in where I’m at. I didn’t really go into much on the rear sub after I fitted it. After I had all the bushes pressed in, I decided the best approach was to build up the fresh subframe with everything attached, including the diff. Given I’m lone working in my small single garage I thought this was a good idea and save me time. Rear End Refurb - ユーノス ロードスタ S-SPECIAL NA6CE by batousan 2, on Flickr It weighed an absolute chonk but I managed to line it up with the help of a few pallets and strategically placed wood. After getting the wheels on it allowed me to drop the whole car under its own weight and fully torque down the bolts which made quite a difference to the overall ride height, when I dropped it back down the front must have been down about 10mm more than usual and my jack was stuck under the front lip (I’ve since raised the front dampers to compensate for the lack of clearance, but not by much). After an interesting drive to the alignment shop it was time to see what a horrible mess I’d made of it all. Supermiata Alignment - ユーノス ロードスタ S-SPECIAL NA6CE by batousan 2, on Flickr The front was tracking pretty weirdly and the steering was quite shopping trolley pulling me around but I expected to see some wild caster numbers on there along with a tonne of toe in and mismatched camber on the fronts, remember everything including the front rods, arms have been on and off the car and the fronts have extended lower ball joints now. I took a little more time to toe the rears before I drove it, but I could not get a good enough camber reading to dial them anywhere close enough but it was safe enough not to crab down the road. Before Supermiata Alignment - ユーノス ロードスタ S-SPECIAL NA6CE by batousan 2, on Flickr Shout out to the team at Luton Tyre Pros (formerly Tyre City) the attention to detail, accuracy and care taken to dial in a perfect setup I wanted was excellent, the patience to get the sensors set in a way to not scuff the bodywork and wheels was really appreciated too so if your local I’d totally recommend these guys, just be sure to mention on the phone what you expect and let them know you’ll pay by the hour if required. I had them dial in the Supermiata Race Alignment numbers, partly due to clearance requirements from the wheel setup but also I really like the feel of 0 toe, aggressive front camber and lots of positive caster, the steering weight and turn in is absolutely mega. The numbers from the Supermiata Website are as follows: Front camber: -3.2° ~ 4.2° Caster: ~ 4.0° or max available once you reach camber targets Front total toe: 0 Rear camber : Road course -2.8°. Autocross -2.5° Rear toe: 0,04° toe-in per side This was as close as we could get (ignore the picture of the car on the screen its designed to look weird if you are not running everyday normal toe/camber numbers) the guy did not rush, even though they gave me a flat rate for the work which was very reasonable comapred to where I've been previously: After Supermiata Alignment - ユーノス ロードスタ S-SPECIAL NA6CE by batousan 2, on Flickr The drive home was mega, it is everything I’d hoped for on the road. Looking forward to seeing how it performs on the circuit in early July. The car feels so much tighter on the new bushings, theres a little more NVH than before as expected buy its not a problem, given the harmonics from the ITBs at 7k rpm you no longer notice. All in all, a very worthwhile job I hope to never have to do again. 4AGE 4-Throttle ユーノス ロードスタ S-SPECIAL NA6CE by batousan 2, on Flickr

Engine & Drivetrain, Service/Misc# NoPro Suzuki Cappuccino Washer Bottle# Oil Service, HKS filter & Millers CFS 10W50# Koyorad 1.3kgf/cm2 Radiator CapAfter the manifold fire last year, and consequently the washer bottle/piping around it melting and adding flammable fluid to the mix I thought it best to not only replace it, but move it as far from the manifold as I possible can. Ordered from Japanparts for not a lot of money, everything fitted easily and the brackets that come with the kit put it neatly in the right spot and clear the bonnet. Pretty simple mod and really neatens up the bay, Nopro Washer Bottle - ユーノス ロードスタ S-SPECIAL NA6CE by batousan 2, on Flickr Decided after the first round of roughing the map in and being rich for some time it would be a good time to change out the oil for the season. Oil changes are so much nicer with the ITBs, the space to access the filter is fantastic. Oil Service - ユーノス ロードスタ S-SPECIAL NA6CE by batousan 2, on Flickr To be fair, there wasn’t a smell of fuel in the old oil at all so probably fine, but I was starting to get the usual winter/used oil lifter tick. Out with old, in with the new, no more tick. Oil Service - ユーノス ロードスタ S-SPECIAL NA6CE by batousan 2, on Flickr Replaced the Maruha cap with the recommended Koyo cap, probably makes little to no difference in reality but the old rad is going to someone else so they can have it. Cooling is working super well in the current June heat, it was 27°C to 31°C over the weekend and with it sat in traffic/idling the engine coolant temp in the ECU peaks at 92°C when the fan comes on, the fan hysteresis is set to 4°C which seems to work very well, temp comes down nice and quick and the idle up settings in the Link ECU keep it from stumbling. No overheating issues so far, and when pushing on for a while, the oil peaks around 105°C, be interesting to see what its like on track and whether I need to manage that yet, Rad Upgrade - ユーノス ロードスタ S-SPECIAL NA6CE by batousan 2, on Flickr

Engine & Drivetrain# RS-Harada / BRAVE ツナシマオートサプライ 60Φ All Stainless Steel Exhaust (60Φ main pipe and 70Φ Exit)Recently picked up a new exhaust system for the Roadster from a breaker who was listing a rather tasty system for sale. BRAVE RS Harada / RSハラダ ツナシマオートサプライ - NA6CE by batousan 2, on Flickr Its the BRAVE 60Φ All Stainless Steel Exhaust (60Φ main pipe and 70Φ Exit) made by RSハラダ ツナシマオートサプライ(RS - Harada Tsunashima Auto Supply), based in a small shop in Yokohama they usually just do systems for AE86's but I see these pop up on Yahoo! now and again for the Roadster. RSハラダ ツナシマオートサプライ by batousan 2, on Flickr The breaker was pretty old school and while he had an idea of the value of the system, he wanted it shifted I guess, there certainly was a lot of moneys worth for a lot less than it took to buy all parts separately from Japan thats for sure. It included a barely used Racing Beat 200 cell Sports cat and a Maxim Works 4-2-1 for an NA8C including the heat shielding, after a bit of digging both of these were purchased new in April 2022 and used for maybe 5 months tops. All in great condition. BRAVE RS Harada / RSハラダ ツナシマオートサプライ - NA6CE by batousan 2, on Flickr I gave the muffler a bit of a clean and polish before fitting to the car. BRAVE RS Harada / RSハラダ ツナシマオートサプライ - NA6CE by batousan 2, on Flickr The BRAVE system fits my NA6CE perfectly with the Racing Beat 4-1 header (which previously came used in a NA8C MAXIM box lol) and looks so much more aggressive than the MX5Parts system. Given this was such a bargain in the grand scheme of things, I recently got a great deal on a 4.3 Torsen recently (post on that in due course) so I felt like passing on the good karma on the MAXIM instead of adding the usual JDM tax so splitting the cost of the haul with josho . BRAVE RS Harada / RSハラダ ツナシマオートサプライ - NA6CE by batousan 2, on Flickr He's getting a boxed MAXIM for less than a 1/4 of the new cost as I know it will be used properly and won't just sit in someones JDM parts garage hoard for a year or two instead. As the guy is also being a legend and finding me some matching bolt on shafts for the Torsen I thought it only right to spend a couple of hours cleaning it up to my standards. 株式会社マキシムワークス (MAXIM WORKS) NA8C 4-2-1 エキゾーストマニフォールド by batousan 2, on Flickr Love the sound of this system coupled with an un-silenced de-cat, its a little raspy when cold but when up-to temp the larger bore muffler makes a more more aggressive sound without too much lift off rasp. I have fuel cut switched on the overrun and a modest run down / ignition retard to keep it sensible but it will throw massive fireballs if I want to be an idiot, it does the odd one now and again ever with the cut on but before it was super rowdy.
