Scary spring compessors

I recently had to replace the top hats on the front suspension of my mini. 

i normally don’t really work on anything other than the mx5, but I knew this was going to be an expensive job, so i thought I would give it a bash myself. 

I bought one of these:

I don’t understand how they can make it for such little money. Not a huge amount more than the death compressors that you use on the bench and ratchet by hand. They scare the shit out of me. 

anyway - this was well worth it, even though I plan to never use it again. 

can definitely recommend.
