My 1.8 NA seems to have thrown a strop and lost its coolant again... Annoyingly I wasn't driving it so I can't tell exactly how but from what the Mrs has said it was steaming and the coolant was bubbling... Great Anyhow, there doesn't seem to much coolant left in the rad or the overflow. So some investigation may be needed. The rad is newish so I might put a new thermostat in and replace the hoses with some silicone hoses. So... Can you guys help with 2 Qs please?! What could have caused this to happen and can anyone recommend a decent hose set? There are some nice looking sets on eBay but you never know! Thanks

Have you checked your radiator cap? If it's starting to fail your coolant will boil. For the cost I'd recommend getting a genuine replacement from Mazda. Also check the hose from the oil cooler (behind the oil filter) to the back of the head. Its fairly common for it to fail. I had both of the above issues with mine resulting in loss of coolant and boiling it when pressing on on track.

I'll add a rad cap to the list. Thanks. The hoses look cool too. Magpie here we come!

I've got the Fast5 hoses ready to go on.
They seem to be slightly longer the the standard hoses, is this normal?

Yep a few hose kits come with slightly longer hoses. Just trim a little so it fits
