Hi all, I think I have an issue with overfueling, I don't know what indicates this other than the distinct petrol smell a really sooty smell when thrashing it or maybe the supposed 8inch flames I shoot on gear change. Any ideas what could be the issue it's a 1.6 mk1 with an apexi powerflow air filter and a decatted cobalt

The only way to fix it is pop it on a dyne, get the AFR readings and then tweak the MAF with a screw driver.

Doesnt a failing lambda/o2 sensor cause a rich mixture?

It's probably the old stretched MAF Spring - I had the same problem with my 1.6, there's a guide somewhere
