Good afternoon,
Currently in the very early stages of planning and designing an ITB set up to use with my turbo car. I think it would be awesome, and as far as I can see I may be able to do it on a pretty sensible budget since I will make the majority of bits myself excluding the ITBs themselves which I can source from ebay.
My question is, what do people think advantages of this will be? I'm thinking that its going to be similar to an NA set up, a direct path for boost pressure into the ports, and an improved throttle response, not really expecting a great deal from it, just thinking its something a bit different, and its been an ideal of mine for quite some time now!

The advantages are:
A: Amazing B: Canoeing amazing C: Oh wow, that is amazing D: Canoe me, that is really amazing
Get someone decent to design you a proper plenum

I will get a proper plenum made at some point, in the interest of getting it to function and prototyping I was thinking of making up my own

I'm doubtful about ITBs and turbos mixed - it's like twice the cost, when you could just add a touch more boost on a standard plenum to get the desired effect.
Then again I went down a "why not both" path.

I'm not an expert, but assuming you just want improved throttle response, why not just build a plenum that reduces the distance between the TB and head? Would still be different and awesome!

No, you are (as far as my internet reading can tell me) pretty much bang on the money. The boost seems to negate the main gains of ITBs since you are just ramming it all in there anyway! You should get a better throttle response of course, but it is a fair bit of cash for throttle response, even using bike carbs and DIY! That is a good idea though, I think I will have a look into a DIY intake reduction! Would be cool, and the 5s intake is pretty long as standard!

There must be advantages for it otherwise manufacturers wouldn't go to the hassle and cost of using them on turbocharged OEM applications.
