I installed it on my Caterham in about an hour and I am about as rubbish as it gets with wiring. Now it's a little easier with a 7 but I still reckon the hardest bit is going to be taking the dash apart to put it somewhere sensible. www.myothercarsa2cv.co.uk/howto/shiftlights.htmI would just run it from the tacho wiring, it has all three you need - Ign live, Earth, and coil signal.

What would be nice is if someone could make a nice little bracket to mount it though, similar to the Aces shift lights Caterham used on the R4/500...

Great guide!
I wonder if it would be possible to custom fit the lights into the rim of a (flocked) dash cowl...

Great guide! I wonder if it would be possible to custom fit the lights into the rim of a (flocked) dash cowl... Thanks. Really should update my website... I'm sure it would be possible but could be fiddly getting the LEDs where you want them. If I was doing that, I'd go home brew, you'll still need to site the unit somewhere accessible so you can make adjustments easily (when each light comes on and brightness). Seems more hassle than it's worth to me, and would be obscured by my steering wheel anyway
