Been going round in circles with engine choices for my green car. Was leaning towards an engine swap but the reality is it would put me back a year. So having had a set of Jenvey TBs on my car, sold them for an MP45 charger setup, sold that for an MP62 setup, sold that for a turbo setup, sold that to get some throttle bodies, and sold them to fund an engine swap ... guess what I'm going to put on my car? Yep, yet another throttle body setup!

The manifold has been ordered and I'm bidding on some throttle bodies at the moment so fingers crossed I'll get it running fairly easily

It was at Japfest with Jenveys on it. Never quite right with them to be honest, the new setup has better clearance

How is everyone dealing with noise? My car is way too loud, I know going from open trumpets would reduce the noise massively, so any tips on how to fit a proper filter? Mine is a homebuild so I assume I can't buy an off the shelf backplate, does anyone have recommendations on airboxes?

Have you tried headphones?

I started building a back plate in two parts to clamp around the ITBs, but other things got in the way.

Would individual filters help at all?

Oh I wear noise cancelling in ear monitors and ear defenders over them when I'm in the car and even then it's noticeably loud over 4k revs. I'm partially deaf and have tinnitus so any loud noises are bad for me.

I'm mostly worried about trackday noise limits though, so far I've only tracked this car at Knockhill which doesn't have noise limits.

TD noise limits are something that worry me. Although the only place I regularly go that has a drive by is Blyton, I'd like to tryout a few others, and that may end up causing an issue when I have the ITBs on.

You can buy a filter with a blank back plate fairly cheaply, make a template from cardboard before you cut it. That's how I did my jenvey setup anyway

Mine was a Pipercross one, think it was about £90?

Mine was the Pipercross 600 ... you just need to make sure the backplate is included and that the filter is big enough to clear your trumpets plus a bit

If you want to get the noise down you can fit an airbox, Reverie make some stunning ones! I'm going to see how noisy mine are first as I like the noise ... but don't want to risk being kicked off a track day!!
