ITBs

Where did you get your 101 bodies from? I'm after some 111 as they are slightly larger. Found a few Toyotas for breaking but the sellers don't want to split the bodies.

They're from the RS Aizawa ITB kit. The work was done to the car before I got it.

Got my inlet manifold and Throttle bodies today, from different places. The TBs are a lot more complete than I'd thought ... looks like they were taken off the Toyota and posted to me complete, so I have the Manifold, linkage, fuel pipes and fuel rail, injectors, TBs, trumpets and some cool looking mesh filters!!

The gutting thing is, my car had to go to the fabricator to get some work done on the cage so I can't test fit them for about 2 weeks!

After a new intake manifold gasket, was after the type that reduce heat transfer from the head to the manifold as it can make a big difference

google for phenolic intake manifold and you should find a few options :-)

Got a chance to take a pic of my ITBs, not the best pic but gives an idea.



Have been hearing quite a bit about issues with the 3T manifold not fitting well, haven't got my car back to test fit it yet but as soon as it is back I'll do some tests and report back. Seems a bit hit and miss but it sounds like the manifold lines up at the top but the bottom edge is too low and the sides are out a bit, creating a step in the airflow. It can be sorted but you need to cut a bit away in places, and add a bit back (JB weld, some resin or similar) in other places to get it lined up and flowing well.

oh my good god those mesh filters! thats got to be cutting airspeed down by at least 50%!, i personally love to noise of my itb's and with the skuzzle profile kentregrinds she has a very definite honda vtec like lift as she hits 6k its mental it really is, 170bhp in a 5 is lovely to drive

what sort of spec are you running to get 170bhp?

i dont seem to be able to find a discussion on power and spec to produce that power but maybe im looking in the wrong places.

i have a mk1 1.8 and want to start piecing together the bits i need

I bought this setup from Vindi a month or two back, got the car back up and running just before the last weekend, my God, ITBs are worth doing for the noise alone. I'd sat and watched video after video, I'd been in friends cars with ITBs, but to have them on my own car is a whole new thing. I'm in love.






I do need to work out what I'm doing in relation to velocity stacks and filters though. I'm leaning towards chopping the inlet mani down slightly, but part of me is saying to buy a DanST inlet instead and sell the Bogg Brothers one on...
