At some point planning to take the head off our track day car for a bit of a mild DIY work over (decoke, valve re-lap and mild DIY porting). I believe a bit of skim can release a good few extra horses but any thoughts and advice on how much to go for, 40thou seems a common number?
As per my other threads, track day only car, not road legal so emissions and fuel consumption not really an issue. Will be run on super unleaded 97ron from BP.

You'll need to check if it's been skimmed before.

You'll need to check if it's been skimmed before. Yes good point, any obvious reference for this once it's off? It was a standard Road car prior to its orange makeover and given the near bullet proof reliability I've assumed it's standard. However assumption is the mother of canoe ups (first use of canoe, is the an appropriate usage?)!

Once it's off post a pic, it's normally pretty clear.
They often get skimmed with a Headgasket change if it's ever had one.

I think mine must have just had the surface polished when it went for its last skim / headgasket change lol
