Thought it was about time to start one of these again!
I've joined the Classic Marques competition this year, so will hopefully do some events with howardb66. Also will be competing in the Sevenoaks Speed League (free entry for me as I'm a member), as well as the key.guru AEMC Speed championship and probably the ACSMC Sprint and Hillclimb championship. Mind you, I'm just picking and choosing the events I can and want to do, probably won't be going further north than Birmingham, so if the event I'm doing is part of the championship I'll hopefully get some points, rather than going all out. Probably after this year I should think about focusing on just one competition, but I just want to have some fun really. Maybe by the start of the 2024 season I'll have the rebuilt engine and ITBs to play in?
2019 I didn't compete in much (I killed my Impreza in February and then blew the engine of the replacement Legacy in April, so didn't have a competition car until I bought the Eunos at the end of the year). 2020 there weren't many events for obvious reasons, but I came 4th in the Speed League as fewer events were needed to get a decent score.
2021 was still a bit patchy as I didn't enter many events, but still came 7th overall in the Speed League and won my class (of 1) in the AEMC championship. 2022 was going OK until the Eunos engine blew in July - getting a club award (the Bent Conrod trophy) for that!
I've entered Goodwood on 22 April (not confirmed that I've got a run yet), Lydden Hill on 20 May and again on 15 July, and will probably do either Gurston Down or Prescott as a round in the CMSCC as at least one hillclimb event is required to qualify.
Anyone else getting ready to start their season?

boggissimo looking forward to a season in Classic Marques like yourself. So far, my planned events are- Abingdon, Wiscombe x2 , Gurston x2, Goodwood, Curborough, Pembrey, Goodwood, Combe (4 hills/6 sprints). I’m not entering Prescott as it’s £170 for 4 runs, not entering Shelsey either as they only say 1 practice & 2 timed in the regs; both a rip off.. Have got into Abingdon & Gurston x2 so far. Booking Wiscombe x2 tonight & 1st Goodwood next week. If anyone wants any help or questions about speed events (Hillclimb or Sprints), just ask.

Hi Folks,
I will be having a quieter year this year.
I will enter PMC Werrington Park and MGCC Wiscombe in the RS Ltd. I will be at VSCC Wiscombe and Prescott in the 1934 A7 EB65.
I am back to Yacht Racing again this year as I have bought myself an old knackered 1983 6.6 metre Racing Yacht to play with !
Nothing like having too many expensive hobbies and toys !!!

I'm back navigating this year but no sprint or hillclimb plans as the silver Eunos confusion is now more, well, confusing applied for licence, been 11 years since last one so probably be the wrong one - £104 that could have done something else and £300 on a hans thing Rich.

Matthews Haulage Dixies Challenge Rally on Sunday 30th April 2023 unfortunately places are limited and theres a large number of entrants to the extent of reserve places alocated - not somewhere we want to be I have discovered that for rallying you need an FIA approved balaclava so more costs again Rich.

hello, been a while for me on here. Doing the Bristol Motor Club MX5 challenge again this year. First event is a sprint at Clay Pigeon on Sunday. Should be fun. We also get to do Prescott this year so I have signed up to the driving school there just to get a feel for track.

They keep email asking for entries, so I guess it’s not full.

Abingdon was my 1st event of the season yesterday. It was bloody cold & the Yokohamas didn’t like it very much, although managed to get a little heat into them as the afternoon warmed up. Was feeling pretty rusty to be honest & managed to get 3rd in A5 (roadgoing over 2300cc) & 3rd in Classic Marques.

Saw this on the CM group too, it's a good run and obviously still some time to find judging by your frustrated banging on the wheel!

Now that the navigational rally season has finished, I'll be getting the Eunos ready for speed stuff - oil change, fit the bucket seats, and if I get through them in time, I've got some new front suspension arms and MeisterR suspension to put on too. Will probably not get to them but will try to get an alignment done once I've swapped the arms over. First event will be Goodwood on 22 April, they've finally confirmed I have a run.

Off to Wiscombe tomorrow for a double header. It’ll be a good test of the brakes, on the other hand, the forecast is rubbish so just trying to keep on track might be a good policy.

Came 2nd both days to my mate in his Griffith. The new brakes were great, am going to change to a slightly harder pad though.

Great stuff Howard. You’ve really got that dialled in nicely.
Regards. Rich.
