I've recently had a fuel pump cut off switch added.
I plan on getting a snap off steering wheel from Works Bell - Rapfix2.
I've got a set of tuner nuts with a set of security bolts to go on.
Any other ideas?
Has anyone fitted a gear knob lock, or anything else which works?

Because tell me someone that will want to get inside of a car looking like that

That is the prefect solution. But it may harm my resale.

Whats resale value?
And really, if some nasty person wants to get into/steal your car they will do it.

And really, if some nasty person wants to get into/steal your car they will do it. This. All you can really do is make it slightly less attractive to steal than the car next to it.

fuel cut-off and removable steering wheel are enough to deter most people. if they're willing put the time in to circumvent those they'll have enough time to bypass any "real security" you have, alarm, imob, etc.

That's what you ignore when you are busy spending all your spare money on upgrades

This is exactly what I am doing. Sensible, cheap little things (steering wheel aside) which just make it more of a pain, compared to the neighbours cars. I don't think a near 20 year old MX5 will be at the top of the list for professional car thieves. But if I can deter an opportunist chav it is well worth it. So any other ideas?

Any specific reason for the Works Bell quick release? D1 quick release ones are ~£50 compared to ~£250 for the Works item.

JDM points, also revlimiter probably didn't review the D1.

In all honesty I looked at some reviewers and they seemed blown away by the build quality. On the other hand I know some cheap ones can apparently feel sloppy. On such a critical bit of kit I thought perhaps it's worth spending more. Does anyone have views on decent but more affordable options?

Yes, the Driftworks one I bought is absolutely solid. A friend bought the same one and was similarly impressed.

Ok well I'd love to save some money. Because at the moment I am feeling a bit low after this month! So if any of you can confirm a cheaper option which is totally SOLID then I'll look at them seriously.

Swapping the steering wheel over - 5 minutes.
Connecting the NRG quick release - half an hour of faffing and mechanically it works.
Getting the horn to work - forget it. An hour wasted trying different settings, stripping it all apart, lovely soft electrical screws which strip easily, canoeing great. Forget opening the box and bolting this thing up. That is not going to happen. Earth cables are missing. This canoe can go back in the canoeing box.
I have a new wheel and no horn and no QR.
Canoe sake.
